Bollywood fans were excited when actor Ranveer Singh was announced as the new lead star of the famous movie franchise Don 3.
The action film, directed by Farhan Akhtar, was expected to be one of the biggest movies in India. But now, the film has landed in the middle of a huge controversy.
A film workers’ group called the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, also known as FWICE, recently made a strong statement about the matter.
According to reports, FWICE said that none of its members would work with Ranveer Singh until the issue connected to Don 3 is solved.
The disagreement began after reports claimed that Ranveer Singh suddenly stepped away from Don 3. The movie had already been in development for almost three years. Producers and crew members had reportedly spent a large amount of money preparing for filming.
Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani were said to be upset because the film’s shooting schedule was close to starting.
Reports suggested that many workers, technicians, and artists were already connected to the project. FWICE leaders explained that when a big actor leaves a movie at the last moment, many people working behind the scenes can face problems.
FWICE reportedly received a complaint through another industry body called the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association.
After reviewing the issue, the organization announced a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. This means many workers connected to FWICE may avoid joining his future projects until the matter is settled.
According to several reports, the makers of Don 3 also claimed that the project suffered a huge financial loss. Some reports mentioned that nearly ₹45 crore had already been spent on preparations and promotional work.
The situation became one of the hottest topics in the entertainment world because Don is a very popular movie series.
Earlier films in the franchise featured stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Fans were curious to see Ranveer Singh bring his own style to the famous character.
Reports also said there may have been disagreements about the script and creative direction of the movie. However, Ranveer Singh has mostly stayed quiet about the matter in public.
FWICE leaders explained that the film industry depends on teamwork and trust. They believe actors, directors, producers, and workers should all support each other to keep projects running smoothly.
One FWICE official reportedly said that no star is bigger than the rules of the industry.
Even though the controversy has become serious, many movie fans still hope the problem can be solved peacefully. Some reports claimed that efforts were made behind the scenes to settle the disagreement.
For now, it is still unclear what will happen next with Don 3. The film remains one of the most talked-about projects in Bollywood, and audiences are waiting to see whether the movie will continue with a new plan or face further delays.
The controversy has also started discussions about how important teamwork is in filmmaking. A movie is not made by actors alone.
Hundreds of people, including camera operators, makeup artists, light workers, costume designers, and editors, help bring a film to life. When a major project faces trouble, many workers can be affected too.
Fans across India are now closely watching the next move from both Ranveer Singh and the Don 3 team.
