Heyy Babyy 2 Officially Announced by Sajid Nadiadwala After 19 Years
Heyy Babyy 2 is officially happening nearly two decades after the original comedy hit theatres. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala announced the sequel on September 3, 2026, as part of a new three-film production deal involving Australia.
Sajid Nadiadwala made the announcement during a meeting with New South Wales Premier Chris Minns at Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s Mumbai office. The production house plans to shoot all three upcoming films in Australia, with Heyy Babyy 2 among them.
The sequel will also return to Australia, where the original 2007 film was extensively shot. Nadiadwala praised Australia’s locations, film infrastructure and support for filmmakers as key reasons for continuing the partnership.
“Heyy Babyy 2 brings the much-loved Heyy Babyy back as a franchise,” Nadiadwala said while announcing the project. He also confirmed that the sequel will return to Australia.
The original Heyy Babyy starred Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan. The story followed three bachelors whose carefree lives changed after a baby was left at their doorstep.
However, fans should not assume that the original cast will return just yet. The makers have not officially confirmed whether Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Riteish Deshmukh or Fardeen Khan will reprise their roles in the sequel.
The makers have also not announced the sequel’s release date, storyline or director. For now, the confirmed news is that Heyy Babyy 2 will bring the franchise back nearly 20 years after the original.
Its return to Australia also creates a direct connection with the 2007 film. More details about the cast, director and release date could emerge as the project moves into development.
