Nia Long Receives Hollywood Walk of Fame Star
Actress Nia Long has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking a major milestone in her more than three-decade career.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored Long with the 2,857th star during a ceremony in Los Angeles on September 16, 2026. She received the honor in the Motion Pictures category.
The ceremony brought together Long’s family, friends and several entertainment industry figures. Rapper Snoop Dogg and producer Graham King served as guest speakers during the event.
Long’s Michael co-star Larenz Tate also attended the celebration, along with Morris Chestnut, Tiffany Haddish, Mike Epps, Courtney B. Vance and other guests.

Long’s new star recognizes her contribution to film over a career that spans more than 30 years. She became widely known for roles in films such as Boyz n the Hood, Friday, Love Jones, Soul Food and The Best Man. She also appeared in Big Momma’s House and several other successful films.
Television audiences also know Long from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where she played Will Smith’s character’s girlfriend Lisa Wilkes. She later appeared in shows including Third Watch, Empire and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Long recently appeared as Katherine Jackson in Michael, the Michael Jackson biographical film directed by Antoine Fuqua. The film stars Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson and features Long alongside a large ensemble cast.
The actress is also set to reunite with Larenz Tate for the upcoming Netflix romantic drama Don’t Ever Wonder. Their reunion adds another connection between Long’s current work and her earlier film career.
During the Walk of Fame ceremony, Long spoke about family, faith and her journey in entertainment. She also honored her mother and the people who supported her throughout her career.
The new Hollywood Walk of Fame star now places Nia Long among the entertainment figures permanently recognized along Hollywood Boulevard.
