The new sensation at the movies is ‘Terrifier 2’, the slasher film directed by Damien Leone that is provoking what very few films do in the viewer: vomit.
Usually, horror movies keep viewers awake at night, but ‘Terrifier 2’ is different and has gone viral, since its scenes are so graphic that several moviegoers are fainting and vomiting in their seats.
Becomes a social media sensation
On social media, several attendees of the film’s special premiere shared their experiences about this indie film, that will be released in more than 850 movie theaters nationwide and is a sequel to Terrifier (2016), whose story revolves around a psychotic killer clown named Art The Clown.
In ‘Terrifier 2’, this character is brought back to life by an evil entity, terrorizing a teenage girl and her brother in the middle of Halloween. Many consider it as a kind of ‘It’, but more aggressive, full of blood and extreme sequences. In fact, the film’s violence is what has made it a viral phenomenon.
Moviegoers share their experience
“My friend fainted and the cinema called an ambulance. Highly recommended,” posted a viewer on Twitter, adding an image of his friend being attended to by medical services.
“The guy behind me passed out cold n crashed into my chair” commented another. “Another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say and walking out theatre door I heard a guy puking hard & loud in the bathroom”, he added.
“Terrifier 2 is so gory I threw up on my popcorn,” wrote one more.
The movie has benefited from the effect it has on several people, as it earned $1.4 million at the box office in less than seven days, making it a perfect example of word-of-mouth advertising.
