Talking at the41th Sharjah International Book Festival, Jayasurya said, “Malayali audiences cannot be fooled easily. Exaggerated heroes or villains, as seen in other language movies, will not be accepted in Malayalam.”

Sharjah: Actor Jayasurya has opened up about films while addressing the 41st Sharjah International Book Festival.
“Good movies come from good friendships devoid of any ego. It is difficult to portray living characters in films. I played the roles of Murali (Vellam) and Sathyan (Captain) after hearing about them from others,” he added.
He also hailed the approach of Malayali audiences towards.
” Malayali audience approach cinema seriously, be it comedy or drama. Hence, they cannot be fooled easily. Exaggerated heroes or villains, as seen in other language movies, will not be accepted in Malayalam.”
“Malayali audiences even evaluate every movie’s storyline, camera and editing. This is a specialty of Malayalam cinema and hence a majority of Malayalam movies are meticulous in their making,” he said.
