From The Flash to Asteroid City, Upcoming Hollywood Movies releasing in June 2023

The slate of Hollywood movies releasing in June 2023 is full of highly-anticipated titles. The month opened strong with the superhero flick – Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Another superhero movie coming up is The Flash. Moreover, Wes Anderson”s star-studded movie Asteroid City and Indiana Jones” much-awaited return in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny are set to release later in the month.

Here are the upcoming Hollywood movies set to release in June 2023:

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The animated film is set over a year after the events of the previous instalment and follows Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) who gets pulled into another multiversal adventure after Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) unexpectedly shows up. The film introduces several Spider-People including Hobie aka Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya) and Indian Spider-Man aka Pavitr Prabhakar (Karan Soni) among others.

The Boogeyman

Based on author Stephen King”s short story of the same name, The Boogeyman tells the story of high-school student Sadie Harper (Sophia Thatcher) who along with her sister Sawyer (Vivien Lyra) experiences the loss of her mother. Strange occurrences begin when their therapist father Will (Chris Messina) is approached by a patient seeking help. Of course, he isn”t who he says he is.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Continuing the Transformers franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the seventh movie. It is both a sequel to Bumblebee and a prequel to the first film. The plot is set in Brooklyn in 1994. It will see Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos), a former military electronics expert and Elena Wallace (Dominique Fishback) as they get embroiled in a clash between the Maximals, Terrorcons and Predacons. They band together with the Autobots and Optimus Prime to save Earth.

The Flash

Arriving amidst several delays and controversies (owing to Ezra Miller), The Flash, the next big thing from the DCEU will be in theatres in a matter of days. The film will follow Barry Allen as he travels across time in an attempt to stop his mother”s death. This will expectedly lead to chaos that involves not one but two Batmans – Michael Keaton”s Batman and Ben Affleck”s Batman and Supergirl (Sasha Calle).

Elemental

June 2023 will also see the release of a Pixar movie. Directed by Peter Sohn, Elemental will spotlight the elements – fire, land, water and air. The film set in Element City sees Ember Lumen, a young woman made of fire and Wade Ripple, a guy made of water as their paths collide. Ember steps out of her element (sorry, not sorry) when she decides to explore uncharted territory.

Chris Hemsworth”s Tyler Rake will return in Extraction 2. The Russo Brothers-backed film will see the mercenary on yet another deadly mission. This time around he has to extract a family being held by a Georgian gangster. The catch is that he has to do it from one of the world”s most dangerous prisons.

Asteroid City

Wes Anderson”s next is a stylised sci-fi drama. Asteroid City has a stacked cast including Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Steve Carell, Maya Hawke and others. The film”s plot, set in 1955, revolves around a Junior Stargazer convention in an American desert town. The film’s anticipation has only increased after the viral Wes Anderson social media trend.

No Hard Feelings starring Jennifer Lawrence is about a woman named Maddie (Lawrence) whose job as an Uber driver is in danger after her car is repossessed. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

The last Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will hit screens by the end of the month. The James Mangold directorial will bring back Harrison Ford”s Indiana Jones. This time around, he will be joined by his goddaughter Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). Their mission is to retrieve a legendary dial before Jurgen Voller, an ex-Nazi gets his hands on it.
