Looking for some serious acting this weekend? You’re in luck. This week’s new movies on VOD include the new film Savage Salvation, in which Robert De Niro joins a stellar cast that includes John Malkovich and Jack Huston in a tale about revenge amid the opioid crisis. For something a little more indie – a little more A24, if you will – Tilda Swinton stars in The Eternal Daughter, a haunting tale about a mother and daughter who visit a spooky manor in the middle of the English countryside and are haunted by memories past.
Since it’s December now, you might be looking for something more festive, so it’s the perfect time to try Christmas With The Campbells. Co-written by Vince Vaughn, this holiday rom-com stars Brittany Snow as Jesse, a woman who typically spends Christmas with her boyfriend Shawn (Alex Moffat) and his family, the Campbells. Shawn dumps Jesse right before the holidays though, as he heads to New York for a job opportunity, leaving her in the dust. But Jesse has a bond with the Campbells and his parents (played by Julia Duffy and George Wendt) take her in anyway and guess what? Shawn has a hot cousin named Daniel (Justin Long) who might be a much better fit for Jesse than Shawn ever was.
These are just a few of the titles that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now!
In the new film Savage Salvation, Jack Huston stars as a man named Shelby John whose fiancee, Ruby (Willa Fitzgerald) dies of a heroin overdose. Consumed by grief and rage, Shelby decides vengeance is the only option, and he attempts to hunt down the drug dealer who sold Ruby the drugs that killed her. The film’s pedigree ain’t too shabby, co-stars include Robert De Niro as a sheriff investigating a string of opiod deaths, as well as John Malkovich and Migos’ Quavo in his first film role.

Tilda Swinton stars in The Eternal Daughter as a woman named Julie who brings her aging mother to a country estate for a birthday trip. Tilda Swinton also stars as the aging mother, Rosalind, whose daughter brings her to a country estate. The two women appear to be the only guests in this creepy, dark old manor, but then Julie starts to question whether they’re truly alone. Are there really ghosts inside the house, or just old memories that haunt the pair? That’s the question. The film is an extension of filmmaker Joanna Hogg’s previous films, The Souvenir and The Souvenir II, which starred Swinton’s daughter, Honor Swinton Byrne, as Julie, and Swinton played Rosalind. Now Swinton is playing both roles in a fascinating, meta tale that only she could pull off.
