While Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies may be experiencing a drop in interest, the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is ready to bounce back with a new Superman film.
The DCEU will release ‘Man of Steel 2’, with Henry Cavill retuning in the Superman role a decade after the premiere of the first ‘Man of Steel’ movie.
THR reported that Cavill will make a comeback, while he is also expected to make an appearance in the new ‘Black Adam’ movie alongside Dwayne Johnson.
DC’s upcoming projects
It should be noted that DC are in search of a director and screenwriters for this second part of Clark Kent’s story, with Christopher McQuarrie, who directed ‘Mission Impossible’, being the favourite for the director’s role.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson would be interested in making a crossover movie between Black Adam and Cavill‘s Superman in the near future.
There are also reports revealing that Ta-Nehisi Coates will be in charge of a DCEU standalone film starring a black Superman.
Ultimately, James Gunn has also been confirmed as the director of a secret future project following his successes with ‘The Peacemaker’ and ‘Suicide Squad’.
