We’re slowly getting closer to Final Fantasy XIV update 6.3, Gods Revel, Lands Tremble dropping. No. We don’t have an exact date yet. Interestingly, it doesn’t look like this Ultimate will be the new “hardest”. According to Yoshi-P’s statements, they consider DSR to be the hardest in the game and are not trying to beat it. He doesn’t say how long this will be, only that it won’t be too short. (Looks like they’re going to go easy on the story delivery for this one.) It’s also worth noting that the individual control development for this Ultimate is the same designer who developed the bosses for Criterion Dungeon Savage. They will work on the final boss, while the designers of Savage’s previous 4th floor boss (who also have Ultimate experience) will work on the first two.

To… The Deep Dungeon: Eureka Orthos. It looks like this one will have about the same difficulty level as Heaven on High. Player comments indicate that this is just right for soloing, so they want to make sure they can keep this for that as well. Yoshi-P is quite happy with the story in this content as well as the new mechanics for players to try out. The story content will end around floor 30, so players who aren’t aiming for the achievements and just want the narrative content can stop there. The rewards will also remain the same, so if you complete everything, enjoy your new title.

This obviously means this is something not coming in 6.3, but it’s a good thought.

On the Blitzball front, it seems to be struggling with the same problem – by creating content, players will end up playing once or twice before dropping out. Other concerns include things like making it something that isn’t too stressful and dealing with matchmaking. One idea considered was a team simulator system that would allow players to search for team members around the world, train them and have them play in matches. The biggest problem is that players have a certain idea of ​​what blitzball should be and it will be difficult to meet those expectations.
