Soon after the former WWE CEO Vince McMahon announced his resignation from the organization, the company revised its estimate of the total amount of hush money paid by McMahon to women to stop them from going public about McMahon’s affairs or misconduct.
It was first revealed by WWE last month that McMahon paid just under $15 million in “certain payments” that should have been recorded as company expenses. Following that disclosure and the announcement of McMahon’s retirement, the company has since disclosed two more payments totaling $5 million in Tuesday’s SEC filing.
They only noted that the payments were not what prompted the original misconduct investigation and that they were from 2007 and 2009. WWE would not share what the payments were for.
His daughter Stephanie McMahon and Nick Hahn are now co-CEOs of the company, while Triple H took over McMahon’s other former role of creative director at WWE.
