The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) held its 1st Annual Creative Arts Ceremony Kids and Family Emmy Awards on Saturday, December 10 at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by Jojo Siva, we were on the purple carpet to talk to some of the presenters and nominees. Today we’re taking a look at all of the night’s winners, including our video interview. First, NATAS President and CEO Adam Sharp discusses why the Kids & Family Entertainment category needed its own category.

Superstar Jojo Siwa hosted the creative arts ceremony and took a quick break between dress rehearsal and the ceremony to show off all her crystals.

The first host of the night was Ben Giroux, the voice of Nate on Nickelodeon Big Nate, which airs on Paramount+. I got to chat with him about his favorite Nicktoons from growing up and his visit to Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Another host was puppeteer Martin Robinson, who has worked at Sesame Workshop since 1981 and brought characters such as Mr. Snuffleupagus and Telly Monster to life on Street sezam.

My personal adorable award goes to Donkey Hodie and Purple Panda from the PBS Kids series Donkey Walk. The furry duo also hosted the ceremony, accompanied by puppeteers Haley Jenkins and Frankie Cordero for support.

And by Hulu/Peacock series Madagascar: A Little Wild, Deaf actress Shaylee Mansfield and ASL consultant Jevon Vetter presented in American Sign Language. They spoke not only about the importance of including more people who speak sign language in the media, but also about their excitement to present an award.

And now to the winners of the evening. For the record, Netflix led with 13 wins at the time Disney+ with 10 and Apple TV+ with 2. BYUtv, Cartoon Network/TBS, Disney Junior, HBO Max, Hulu, Nickelodeon, Oculus TV and Peacock each won 1.
