WhatsApp, screenshots blocked for private images and videos

Last year WhatsApp introduced the “view once” function, which allows when sending a video or photo to select an option that will allow the recipient to see the content only once before it is deleted forever, as already happens. for some time on Snapchat and Instagram. The latest WhatsApp beta released on TestFlight for iOS goes further: photos and videos with the “view once” option enabled cannot be screenshots on the phone: if you try, a message will appear explaining that the screen capture is blocked for privacy reasons. The function is for now available on WhatsApp beta 22.21.0.71 (build 405622068) but will be included in one of the next public versions of the Meta messaging service. This is not the only major news coming to the app: in future versions it will be possible to create interactive polls, while more recently Meta revealed that it will allow users to create links to invite others to join a call, such as Zoom and FaceTime. Furthermore, native desktop versions for macOS and Windows are already available, although in the former case we are still in beta.
