After a short work week, it’s the freakin’ weekend and there’s plenty in store to look forward to. As summer winds down, TIFF revs up — but that’s not all. This weekend’s event lineup includes concerts, comedy shows, and more.

What’s more, the next few days are promising to be balmy, so this might be your last chance to rock any un-worn summer outfits before what is forecasted to be a frosty fall and winter.

Toronto International Film Festival

After the past few years of scaled-back programming, this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) festivities are shaping up to be fulsome and action-packed. Attendees can expect film premiers, red carpets, parties, and in-person G-L-A-M. Whether you’re the type to fan girl over celebrities or not, it’s going to be a good time. September 8 to 18.

The White Rhino Comedy Show

In commemoration of TIFF, some of Canada’s top comedic talent will be performing in Toronto. This year’s lineup includes Ron Pedersen of MADtv, Kris Siddiqi from the Baroness Von Sketch, and Wayne Jones of The Wayne Jones Show. Stand-up comedian Danny Martinello (CBC, Sirius XM) will be the special guest and Chèlle will be the musical guest. September 10 at the Comedy Bar, 945 Bloor Street West.

The Eagles

If you missed the Elton John concert earlier this week, you can still get your soft rock fix this weekend at an Eagles concert. The Eagles will be performing tonight and tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. catering to oldies-lovers of all ages. Be there or be Desperado! September 9 and 10 at Scotiabank Arena, 40 Bay Street.

Rolling Loud Festival

If you’re in the mood for something a little more spirited, the Rolling Loud Festival might be more your speed. Headliners include Dave, Future, Wizkid, Nav, Migos, Rae Sremmurd, and AJ Tracey, amongst many more. Doors open at 3:00 p.m. and the event is 99% sold out — so act fast! September 9 to 11 at Ontario Place — 955 Lake Shore Boulevard West.
