World’s largest retailer of digital fashion DRESSX has partnered with leading cross game and cross metaverse avatar platform Ready Player Me.

The mission of DRESSX co-founders Daria Shapovalova and Natalia Modenova, is to house the digital wardrobe or ‘metacloset’ for every buyer of digital fashion worldwide so the digital dressing experience is completely seamless.

The goal of this new partnership, they say, will help to “facilitate our vision and streamline our journey to the seamless and interoperable digital future of fashion.”

“We are on a mission to bring down walls and make the emerging metaverse a more open and inclusive space for creators and users alike. Digital fashion plays an important role in that and DRESSX is among the most recognizable brands in the space,” adds Ready Player Me head of strategic partnerships Stan Georgiev.

The collaborative DRESSX Snake NFT collection has been minted on the Polygon
MATIC
blockchain and is available for Ready Player Me avatars to use in over 2,500 virtual worlds.

The collection was inspired by snakes’ ability to shed and change their skins, constantly developing new identities and showcasing their new colors. Including both male and female looks, it features six ‘snake skins.’

In addition to the 3D skin for their Ready Player Me avatar to wear in virtual worlds, buyers will also be able to wear wear the same look in a regular photograph shareable via social media using the proprietary digital dressing technology at the heart of the DRESSX proposition.

After all says, DRESSX’s Shapovalova, “the metaverse is the 3D evolution of social media. People don’t just come to play, they socialize there just like they do on (traditional) social networks.”

The DRESSX Snake collection for Ready Player Me was initially presented at the Somnium Space during Metaverse Fashion Week in March.

DRESSX has previously teamed with brands like Printemps, American Eagle, Iris van Herpen, Dundas, Bershka and, most recently Meta for the social media giant’s Avatar Store.

Earlier this year DressX partnered with social gaming platform Roblox on outfits for avatars, created wearables for Decentraland while wider projects include a partnership with fashion media company L’Officiel on digital mashups of looks from the L’Officiel archives.

To date, DressX has secured $3.3 million in seed funding rounds with investors including the Artemis Fund and U.Ventures’ Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF).
