The ninth edition of India Beach Fashion Week kicked off on February 13 at Mercure, the Goa Deevaya resort. Designer Vikram Phadnis launched his resort wear line and Srishti Kaur presented breezy beachwear on the runway with showstopper Sakshi Malik.
Vikram Phadnis launched India Beach Fashion Week in Goa with his maiden resort wear collection, named ‘Bloom’. The 44-look collection was inspired by Phadnis’ store named Adhvan, which he opened in Goa in 2022, and where he first experimented with resort wear. With bright greens, tie dye, and hints of traditional patterns, the collection was youthful, wearable, and playful.
“The free-flowing silhouettes reflect Vikram’s love for bohemian prints, cuts and styling,” announced the event organisers in a press release. “The clothes are comfortably chic, but since he was showcasing them at the curtain-raiser, he glammed them up with elaborate hair-dos and funky makeup.”
Designer and former Miss Teen Universe Srishti Kaur’s collection was designed to blend art and fashion and mixed dramatic silhouettes with glittering embellishments. Actress Sakshi Malik walked the ramp as showstopper for Kaur wearing a tactile silver dress featuring intricate bead work and a dramatic neck piece.
The event held was presented by Ikonic and powered by Timex and concluded on February 14. India Beach Fashion Week’s ‘experience’ partner was Dubai-based record label Royal Falcon Music Production which provided live music for the shows.
