After delivering hits like Arjun Reddy, Geetha Govindam, Dear Comrade and others, Vijay Deverakonda was hoping for a stunning Bollywood entry with Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh and backed by Dharma Productions. But Vijay failed to strike the right chord with the audience as Liger received a lukewarm response at the box office. But Liger’s debacle hasn’t shaken Vijay’s confidence one iota.
At a recent event, Vijay spoke about recovering from the Liger debacle and exuded immense confidence in that regard. “Everywhere I go, the fans keep saying Anna, you have to come back. I wanted to tell you that I have not gone anywhere,” Vijay said in a video shared by Telugu Film Nagar in-charge on Twitter.
At the SIIMA Awards 2022, Vijay addressed the poor performance of his much-awaited Bollywood debut. He had said he didn’t want to attend the event, but he did anyway. “As I speak to you, I promise you that I will get the job done for all of you. You will have fun. Great cinema will be made. Thank you all. It is a great honor to be here,” he said at the award function.
Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Gana Mana directed by Puri Jagannadh was rumored to be shelved due to Liger’s poor performance. However, there is no official announcement about it.
The actor is now gearing up for Khushi opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He is currently busy with his upcoming films. It remains to be seen whether Vijay will be able to regain his form and entertain the audience as he has done with his previous films.
