Veteran actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away in the wee hours today. He was 66 years old when he breathed his last. When the news of his death broke, the Hindi film industry was devastated. Bollywood celebs are shocked to hear the news of the demise of the Mr. India calendar. Yes, Deewana Mastana’s Pappu Pager celebrated the festival of colors a day before his sudden death. Satish Kaushik was reportedly in Delhi when he suffered a heart attack. His close friend Anupam Kher confirmed that he fell unconscious and asked the driver to turn the car around and later suffered a heart attack. He is said to have died on the way to the hospital. Just a day before, the late actor was at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s residence in Mumbai to celebrate Holi. He also shared fun and happy moments from the celebration on his Instagram account. Film writer and poet Javed Akhtar hosted a Holi bash at his home and invited many friends from the industry. One of the attendees at the party was comedian Satish Kaushik who was enjoying the festival not knowing what would happen to him the next day. He celebrated the festival with B-town newlyweds Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha and actress Mahima Chaudhary. In the pictures, Kaushik can be seen all smiles as he is blurred in vibrant colors.

Satish Kaushik, born on April 13, 1956, appeared in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaro, Mandi and Woh 7 Din, but his breakthrough role was with Shekhar Kapur’s Mr. India, in which he played the popular character Calendar. He later appeared in many films and received recognition for his various roles. One of his films is yet to be released and it is with Kangana Ranaut. The actor’s latest film is Emergency and it is expected to release this year.
