The child showed an interest in dressmaking from the age of 4 and since then, it has been an uphill climb. Videos of him designing a flamenco dress, jacket, tiger dress and several others are documented in his account. He told his parents at the age of 4 that he wanted to be a designer and asked for a mannequin.
His mother Sherri Madison, a cardboard artist and designer, made him a cardboard mannequin. Soon, he started making dresses with knots and tape and he was taught to sew by a professional. Once his designs got better, his parents bought him a real mannequin and at the age of 5, he hosted his first fashion show.
Accompanying little girls wearing his stunning clothes, Alexander seemed proud in one of the videos.
With the money earned from the show, the little prodigy bought two sewing machines. In merely a few years, Max made more than a hundred designs, sold his works internationally and even commissioned a jacket for American actress Sharon Stone, according to a People report.
He goes to school and designs at night as well as on weekends and holidays. An Instagram post said he is mostly inspired by the ocean, nature and fabric. Max says he loves making women feel beautiful and that is what motivates him, read a post.
“He’s never expressed any interest in wearing the dresses himself. He doesn’t make men’s wear. He really wants women of all sizes to feel beautiful…He wants to be the head of the house of Gucci or he wants to have his own atelier, Couture to the Max Italian,” his mother Madison was quoted as saying by People.
”It turns out his grandparents were in the fashion business in Montreal. My grandparents and my mom were all sewists, but Max didn’t know any of that, it came out of nowhere.”
She also added that Max is a self-taught designer. “It’s all been trial and error from day one because I don’t know how to do that. He’s just worked that part out himself somehow.”
