Last year, Nisha Rawal filed a domestic violence complaint against estranged husband Karan Mehra, his family members Kunal Mehra, Bela Mehra and Ajay Mehra. She also addressed her allegations in the media and also accused Karan of having an extra-marital affair. Although Karan has denied all the allegations, he recently said that he would like to have a public trial against Nisha and telecast it live like the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation case where the final verdict was in favor of Johnny.
Since his arrest in 2021, Karan and Nisha have been battling it out in court, with Karan seeking custody of his son Kavish. When asked about the idea of a TV trial, Karan said he has nothing to hide and people are already comparing him to Johnny.
“If it could be like them (Jonny-Amber) that we could show, everyone could understand and see. But this is not happening in India. And it took Johnny Depp 6-7 years to do whatever they were. That was different. Of course, now this case is referred here, they call me Johnny and whatever, but the way we deal with these things is very aggressive. You file 9 cases, 10 cases, 20 cases, I’m ready,” Karan told Siddharth Kannan during their interaction.
Karan also said that this was one area he had never explored, but he was in the system and learned about cases, drafting and interacting with lawyers. He mentioned the 1,500 pages he wrote about his suffering at the hands of his estranged wife.
Karan recently accused Nisha of having an extramarital affair with her brother Rakhi. However, Nisha said that she is not responsible to anyone and claimed that Karan does not want to take financial responsibility for their son.
During Kangana Ranaut’s stint hosting the reality show Lock Upp, Nisha had admitted to kissing a close friend while she was married. She also talked about her miscarriage and her trauma after going through it all. She had also informed Karan that day but the latter did not take it positively.
