The hottest product in the world right now is a tank top, but not just any tank top: Loewe’s scoop-neck tank top. Featuring the house’s swirling anagram motif, the style bagged the top spot on Lyst’s quarterly index report, beating a throng of other sellout products for the ultimate title.
Loewe’s logo tank might be simple in its design, but it’s highly effective. Worn by Rihanna, Hunter Schafer, Dua Lipa and Kylie Jenner, the top has all the hallmarks of a great basic, elevated by a recognisable insignia stamped at its centre. With a £295 price-tag, it’s the definition of “stealth wealth”.
The second hottest buy, according to Lyst, is quite the opposite. A pair of sunshine-yellow Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 trainers – another celebrity-endorsed product – took second position, suggesting that Adidas Samba fever is waning (if only slightly). Further proof comes from the fifth place product: a pair of New Balance X Aimé Leon Dore 860v2s, which were immediately popular following their release in spring 2023.
The aforementioned trainers pack a punch with their sporty designs, but minimalist styles play a starring role in the report, too. Alaïa’s bestselling fishnet flats, The Row’s City flip-flops and a Loro Piana’s baseball cap – similar to the one worn by Kendall Roy in Succession – come in at seventh, eighth and tenth place, respectively, confirming that “quiet luxury” is here to stay. Longchamp’s pared-back Le Pliage tote, meanwhile, assumed ninth place.
