All eyes are on Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. The film is expected to be a huge hit in the overseas and domestic markets. Drishyam 2 was the last big hit for Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan is back after four long years. The film is embroiled in two major controversies. Marginal groups objected to the name Pathaan. But the biggest controversy was about the song Besharam Rang. Some people strongly objected to the fact that Deepika Padukone wore a tangerine bikini in the film. They feel that this offends the sentiments of Hindus towards saffron. The color is in the same palette as Bhagwa. CBFC has asked the makers to review the film.
Now Aaj Tak has reported that multiplex owners have asked the government to intervene. They seem to have complained of many written and verbal threats from similar groups warning them not to show the film. Bajrang Dal workers tore down posters at a mall in Vastrapur a few days ago. Many people condemned the incident. Something similar happened even during the release of Padmavaat. The film did not release in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The Boycott Bollywood gang has targeted Pathaan since day one.
