Rajkumar Santoshi, who directed Andaz Apna Apna, has confirmed the title of his new comedy film, which is said to be a sequel. However, the director confirms that his new project will be similar to the cult classic, but not a sequel. Mr. Santoshi said that he is not a fan of doing remakes, which is why he opted out of making a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna.
The director adds that he would have made Phir Ghayal, Ghayal Ek Baar Aur and Damini Phir Chamkegi long back if he was keen on remakes. Santoshi is not the type of director who keeps referring to what has already been done and creating something new excites him. The director confirms that his next film is not a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna but a similar musical comedy with lots of song and dance. Adding to the details of his next comic project, he revealed that it will also be called ‘Ada Apni Apni’
Rajkumar Santoshi will adopt the same strategy of Andaz Apna Apna for Ada Apni Apni which will feature young stars rather than Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. The script is finalized and the director will make the big announcement soon. The director wonders whether Ada Apni Apni will turn out to be better than the original Andaz Apna Apna or not.
The 1994 comedy film featured an ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Aamir Khan, Karishma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor. The film received several awards for Best Picture and Best Director.
