According to Variety, the story of Brahmastra is not a typical boy meets girl and falls in love like in a typical Bollywood film. He mixed Bollywood elements with mystical powers from mythology and created his own universe called Astraverse. Asters are made of the basic elements of earth, air, fire, water, and wind, along with the power and abilities of certain animals. Ranbir’s character Shiva meets Alia’s character and they find unusual things happening between them. Ranbir gives a satisfying performance while Alia shines on the big screen. Their chemistry will give you a glimpse of their real life romance which is well portrayed by Ayan in the script. Although the plot of the film gets convoluted at times followed by a sloppy pace, it manages to keep the audience hooked on it, anticipating what will happen next.

Mouni Roy as the evil force does a great job of sustaining the interest while powerhouse performers like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Shahrukh Khan’s cameo are the icing on the cake. The film is loaded with visual effects that try to match the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is influenced by several superhero landings. However, Brahmastra does a good job of paving the way for the trilogy.

While several fans and media here have already seen the film and seem quite impressed with the newly created Astraverse which has its roots in Indian mythology, it remains to be seen what kind of reviews and ratings Brahmastra will receive once the embargo is over.
