Brahmastra is one of the most awaited films of the year. The film took the box office by storm and got a grand opening. On its first day, the film reportedly collected Rs. 35-36 crores at the box office and that is certainly an excellent start. Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjunaand Mooney Roy is a Hindi film but it has been dubbed and released in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Many Hindi films were released in the regional languages this year, but none of them fared well at the box office.
However, Brahmastra does well in the south. According to Sacnilk Entertainment, Brahmastra has collected Rs. 11.10 crore gross in South. On the first day in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it earned Rs. 6.70 crore gross, in Karnataka, it grossed Rs. 2.30 crore, in Tamil Nadu the collection was Rs.1.55 crore and in Kerala it collected Rs. 55 lakh.

The collection from southern states is good, especially from the Telugu speaking states. The makers had promoted the film in south very well. In the south, especially in the Telugu speaking states, many things worked in Brahmastra’s favour. The film stars Telugu star Nagarjuna, it is presented by SS Rajamouli and Jr. NTR came for the pre-release event.
It will be interesting to see if this good performance at the South box office continues in the coming days or not. Meanwhile, Brahmastra is currently apparently heading towards Rs. 100 crore+ weekend at the Indian box office. The film received a good response overseas as well and according to the makers, the film has collected Rs. 75 crore gross on the first day worldwide. Brahmastra has certainly turned into an Astra who is here to save Bollywood.
