Mr Yaw Acheampong Boafo, the National President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), says the judiciary is beyond criticism and there is always room for improvement.

However, he said the appropriate tools for correction and improvement should be through constructive criticism and superior arguments, not statements and actions that attack their personalities, undermine their independence, taint the administration of justice and threaten their very security and safety.

Mr Acheampong said this during the 40th anniversary memorial service of the three Supreme Court judges who were assassinated in June 1982.

Justices Fred Poku Sarkodee, Cecilia Koranteng-Addow, Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong and Major Sam Acquah, a retired military officer, were abducted during curfew and killed at the Bundase military training ground, 50 kilometers east of Accra, on 30 June 1982.
