Matt Jesson, president and CEO of Green Lawn Fertilizing/Green Pest Solutions, has been honored as Ernst and Young’s (EY’s) 2022 Greater Philadelphia Entrepreneur of the Year.
According to a press release from Green Pest Solutions, “Entrepreneur of the Year is one of the most recognized competitive business awards for entrepreneurs and leaders of high-growth companies who think big to succeed.”
Jesson was selected by a panel of independent judges based on the criteria of “entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact – among other key contributions and qualities,” according to the news release.
“I am very blessed to work with such an incredibly passionate team that truly cares about our team members and customers,” Jason said in the news release.
Jason has been an entrepreneur since the age of 12 when he started his own neighborhood lawn mowing business in Havertown, PA. He ran this business all the way through his early 20s until he transitioned the business from Jesson Landscaping into lawn care with the founding of Torene Green Lawns in 2004. Jesson started another business in 2012 with the creation of a specialty brand for pest control, Green Pest Solutions.
Green Lawn Fertilizer/Green Pest Solutions has grown to over 50,000 home customers, over 250 team members and over $30 million in annual revenue.
The regional winners will now be judged by the national independent jury, and the national awards will be presented in November at the Strategic Growth Forum, a gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
The winner of the National Overall Entrepreneur of the Year Award will then go on to compete for the EY Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award in June 2023.
