Popular south star Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan got married in June this year and their lavish wedding was attended by Rajinikanth, Shahrukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, AR Rahman, Suriya and many more. Nayanthara later announced that they had become parents to twins Uyir and Ulagham through surrogacy in October. This announcement left everyone shocked and raised several questions about the legality of the same as commercial surrogacy has been banned in India since January. An inquiry was later organized by the Tamil Nadu government, which stated that Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan had not violated any surrogacy laws in the country. The Tamil Nadu government has formed a three-member panel, which has been appointed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to investigate the case and surrogacy process of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan. On Wednesday, the group presented its findings and accused the hospital of creating confusion. The report in The News Minute further revealed that the couple’s family doctor provided a letter of recommendation in 2020 after which the necessary treatment was provided. The private hospital was maintaining Nayanthara’s records and the expert committee chastised itself heavily as it said the record keeping was faulty. The department has issued a notice to the hospital regarding the same.
