One of BBC’s biggest TV shows, Strictly Come Dancing will return to our screens this autumn for another instalment of glamour, glitter, and, of course, dancing. So far there are no confirmed names for the latest line-up, but that hasn’t stopped fans speculating who they think will be hitting the dance floor.
The rumours about which celebs are set to appear in what will be the 21st series have been circling already, and with the professionals returning already named, there’s lots to keep an eye on ahead of the potential September return.
Who is the first celebrity rumoured to be hopping into the sequined world of Strictly this year? According to WalesOnline, TV presenter Angela Scanlon’s name has been floated around as a possible 2023 Strictly contestant. Irish presenter Angela has fronted The One Show and Your Home Made Perfect and fits the bill for Strictly, will we be seeing her waltz onto the dancefloor later this year?

Former Love Islander, Zara McDermott is also speculated to be joining the BBC cast. She would be the first contestant from the ITV2 dating show to appear on Strictly.
Since her time in the Love Island Villa, Zara has made multiple documentaries for BBC Three, including one on her experience of revenge porn and the rise of eating disorders among teens.
Last year’s queen of the jungle, Jill Scott, has also been touted as swapping her football boots for dancing shoes.
Actor Nigel Harman is one of the rumoured stars for Strictly 2023. Best known for playing Sharon Watts’ partner Dennis Rickman on EastEnders for almost three years between April 2003 and December 2005, Nigel could be jiving his way into the nation’s hearts later this year.
Bobby Brazier, the son of Jeff and Jade Goody, is rumoured to be signing up too. A TV insider told The Sun: “Bobby is the dream signing for Strictly — he’s a young heart-throb who comes with a huge fanbase. He also has a very personal backstory and there’s so much love out there for Jade.”
Loose Women Gloria Hunniford has revealed that her TV pal Angela Rippon will be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2023. Angela is 78 and is set to become Strictly’s oldest-ever contestant.
Gloria said that her Rip Off Britain co-star, Angela, will be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing. Fellow Loose Women Ruth Langsford said although it has not been confirmed officially, it would be great to see Angela take part in the show.
Devon-born Rippon is a TV legend, and becoming one of the oldest dancing contestants on the show would only add to her wealth of iconic TV appearances.
In other Strictly news, one professional will unfortunately be saying goodbye. Pro dancer Cameron Lombard is leaving ahead of the 2023 series. Welsh professional Amy Dowden has recently had surgery for breast cancer and we have all the up-to-date news on Amy’s journey ahead of Strictly’s return.
Rylan Clark also announced he would be stepping down from presenting the spin off show, It Takes Two, with his replacement being revealed as 2022 contestant, Fleur East.
The Strictly Come Dancing Tour will also be heading down south next year. Strictly Come Dancing’s professional dancers are coming to Devon and are promising to put on a spectacular show.
The Strictly Come Dancing The Professionals UK 2024 tour will include fans’ favourites including Vito Coppola, Carlos Gu, Gorka Marquez, and the 2022 winner Jowita Przystal who lifted the glitterball trophy with her partner Hamza Yassin. Find out how to get tickets here.
