Suraj Pancholi acquitted in Jiya Khan’s suicide case. Back in 2013, he was arrested on charges of suicide of his then girlfriend. After a 10-year battle, he was released as a free man. The court announced the final verdict on April 28. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special judge AS Sayyed cited lack of evidence in the case. Sooraj Pancholi revealed that Salman Khan was the first person he contacted after leaving the court.
In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Suraj Pancholi revealed that Salman Khan was by his side during his legal battle. He also mentioned that after coming out of the court he first messaged the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actor. On receiving the message, the actor replied, “Sooraj, if you know in your heart that you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about.” Salman Khan launched Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in the 2015 film Hero.
Talking to Bombay Times about his relationship with Bhaijaan, the actor said that he is not a friend of his father Aditya Pancholi or his mother Zarina Wahab, but they know each other as they work in the same industry. He further added that the superstar had promised to produce his first film when he was working as an assistant director on Ek Tha Tiger.
The film released two years after the actor was accused in the Jaya Khan suicide case. Despite his lawsuit, Salman Khan produced the film and stood behind Sooraj Pancholi. He appreciated Salman Khan for supporting him during his difficult phase. Suraj states that the actor has done a lot for him more than anyone else. He adds that he knows his limits and will not exploit the relationship he shares with Mr Khan. He meets him a few times but never on business and first sends a message to Salman Khan as soon as he leaves the court.
Jiah Khan dated Sooraj Pancholi for a short period of time. The Gajhini actress was found dead at her residence in Mumbai on June 3, 2013. Based on the alleged suicide letter, her boyfriend was blamed for her death. Well, it came as a big win for Sooraj Pancholi after 10 years. He was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
