In a shocking development, the Oshiwara police have lodged an FIR against singer-composer Rahul Jain. The 30-year-old woman is a costume stylist. She claimed that the incident took place at his apartment in Mumbai. The singer dismissed the accusations as false and baseless. In her statement, the lady claimed that Rahul Jain contacted her through Instagram and praised her work. He told her to visit his place at a high-rise in Andheri, assuring her that he would be appointed as his personal costume stylist. She went to him on August 11, 2022. He took her to his bedroom on the pretext of showing her wardrobe and raped her.
The woman also said that Rahul Jain assaulted her when she tried to resist his assaults. It appears he tried to destroy evidence as well. According to PTI, cops have registered an FIR under sections 376 (Punishment for rape), 323 (Punishment for intentional infliction of pain) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. No arrests have been made so far, Rahul Jain told PTI, “I don’t know this woman. The allegations raised by her are false and baseless. Earlier also a woman made similar allegations against me but I got justice. That woman can be that woman’s partner.’
Last year, a Bollywood lyricist and writer had filed an FIR against Rahul Jain and two of his family members for rape, forced abortion and other serious charges. This happened in October 2021. Rahul has sung songs like Teri Yaad (Fever), Aane Wale Kal (1921), Ghar Se Nikla, Na Tum Rahe Tum and Chal Diya Tumse Door for the Viu web series Spotlight. He has also worked as a music director in films like Kaagaz and Jhoota Kahin Ka.
