Shop Like—Celebrity Facialist Joanna Czech

Shop Like is a recurring column in which Forbes Vetted asks some of the most stylish and notable personalities their favorite items to buy, gift and receive. On the hunt for shopping inspo? Look no further.

Between prepping A-list celebrities’ skin for the Met Gala these past few weeks to jetting back and forth between her namesake spas in both Dallas and New York City, facialist to the stars Joanna Czech is one busy gal. The skincare guru, known for her highly coveted skincare treatments that marry traditional massage techniques with super technologically advanced devices like microcurrent, cryotherapy and LED, spent years scouting out the perfect spot to open her new N.Y.C. location. “I love getting to spend my time between New York and Dallas,” she says. “I’m hardly ever in the same place for more than three weeks at a time, so I’m happy that I get to spend more time in my new studio on Howard [Street] and with my New York clients.”

Czech, who has been in the business for nearly 35 years, worked to create a haven for her East Coast clients, in addition to her wildly successful flagship location in Dallas. “With the help of our interior designer, Jeang Kim, and our studio manager, we have created my dream space. I feel so lucky that I get to go to such a beautiful space to work. It doesn’t hurt that it’s between R13, Mason Margiela and Rick Owens…It’s also a little dangerous!”

But that’s not the only thing that has been keeping her busy—enter the most fashionable night of the year, the annual Met Gala, where she spends the entire month of May in N.Y.C. prepping stars’ skin. “The Met Gala is my Super Bowl and I love seeing all the creativity that transpires on the red carpet,” she says. “It’s a busy time but I try and prep myself the week before by getting into my routine, like working out and eating healthy, so I maintain my energy through the long days.”

Below, Czech shares her favorite products in beauty, fashion and home that help fuel her success, define her style and give her that dewy, glowing skin that made her so sought after in the first place.
