Shama Sikander has had a long career in the entertainment industry. A few months ago, the beautiful actress married her longtime lover, James Milliron. Shama Sikander is now reading scripts and hopes to make a comeback with a good show. The actress did an interview with Bollywood Life where she talked about how happy she is to see the industry in the present. Shama Sikander said that people are more professional than ever and that is a boon for actors. The actress took a trip down memory lane as she narrated her experience on the casting couch to Bollywood Life.
Shama Sikander told us, “The industry has changed so much and for the better. Today, young producers are much more professional and treat people with respect. They have no idea about sex for work. In the past, producers have told me they wanted to be friends with me. I asked how we can be friends if we don’t work together. I feel the whole concept of asking for sex in exchange for work is the lowest of the low. I mean, you’d have to be a terribly insecure human being to do that. Some of these producers and creators were established names in the industry. It shows that you don’t have an iota of confidence that you can win a woman’s heart organically. But casting is not limited to Bollywood. It happens everywhere.”
The actress is quick to add that she has met some of the nicest men in Bollywood who have made her feel loved, safe and cared for. “It is wrong to blame Bollywood for this. It is more talked about as it is a profession that is under the limelight. I feel that evil exists in every person, which is why some people feel they can humiliate others in this way. it has to address that devil that lives in your mind,” she says.
Shama Sikander says she is more committed to self-love and care than she has ever been. “Healing is an ongoing process. It takes a certain amount of discipline to always put yourself first. It may seem like selfishness, but you have to be in good shape to love and care for the people around you,” she states.
