See which celebrities have braved the mazes at Universal Studios – Daily News

Halloween Horror Nights is in full swing at Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City. The seasonal event features eight walk-thru mazes, three scare zones and the expanded Terror Tram and runs select evenings through Oct. 31.

Since event producers create attractions based on some of the biggest horror films and television shows — including “Killer Klowns from Outer Space,” “Halloween,” “Nope” and “The Black Phone” this year — HHN tends to attract high-profile horror fans, including several actors from the movies and shows that have inspired mazes throughout the years.

The 2022 haunting season has brought out stars from TV shows like “What We Do in the Shadows” and “Stranger Things,” as well as movies like “It,” “Scream” and “Carrie.” With R&B star The Weeknd having an attraction based on his “After Hours” album at the event this year, several musicians have come out as well, including singer-songwriter Demi Lovato, Swedish DJ Alesso, singer Robin Thicke, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, The Regrettes’ vocalist Lydia Knight and Wallows singer-guitarist and horror actor Dylan Minnette.

HHN also features attractions based on original concepts by event producers including Scarecrow: The Reaping, in which crows and scarecrows have taken over a old farm house, and Universal Horror Hotel, set inside a 1920s Hollywood hotel that has become the hunting ground of a notorious serial killer.

Universal Monsters are back as The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Mummy battle it out in the Legends Collide maze; Michael Myers is still hunting Laurie Strode in the “Halloween” attraction; La Llorona: The Weeping Woman continues to seek young souls within her maze; and The Horrors of Blumhouse returns with a new double feature: “The Black Phone” and “Freaky.”

There’s even a fun mashup of two Jordan Peele films on the Universal backlot, where Peele’s latest thriller, “Nope,” meets his 2019 horror film, “Us.”
