Prince William is a huge fan of the Lionesses, England’s national women’s soccer team. (Or, as they say in England, football.) After the Lionesses made the Euro finals, William shared a rare personal tweet from the Kensington Royal account, writing, “The entire country is so proud of everything you’re achieving. We believe in you and will be with you all the way!”
And this morning, he shared a video in which he and Princess Charlotte wished them good luck. (Watch that clip here!)
The Duke of Cambridge has been the President of the Football Association since 2006, and is a longtime supporter of the sport. In June, Prince William joined the team for a practice at St. George’s Park, where they gifted him with jerseys for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. He also shared that Charlotte is a “budding” footballer. “Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goal,” he said. “She said, ‘Please tell them that.’ She is a budding star for the future.”
Last year, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended the men’s Euro finals between Italy and England at Wembley Stadium. They brought their son, Prince George, to the finals, and to an earlier matchup between England and Germany. Though George wasn’t in attendance tonight, his father were excited to cheer on England. T
