Akshay Kumar is never short of films as he always has upcoming projects lined up in his kitty. With several films already in the pipeline, the actor is all set for another film titled Sky Force. The film revolves around the Indian Air Force and is based on true events. Although Akki is supposed to headline the film, the makers have roped in Sara Ali Khan and Nimrit Kaur as the female leads. Sky Force will be a Maddock Films product directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur.
Sara Ali Khan will reunite with Akshay Kumar for Sky Force after Atrangi Re. If Peeping Moon reports are to be believed, the two have joined hands again for another film set against the backdrop of the Indian Air Force. Another female lead who will play a pivotal role is Nimrit Kaur, who was paired opposite the actor in Airlift. Sara and Nimrit are not roped in opposite the actor but are said to be playing pivotal roles. Both the actresses have reportedly signed on the dotted lines and are set to begin shooting next month. While Akshay Kumar will play an IAF fighter pilot, the roles of the leading ladies are being kept under wraps.
Sky Force is a period air drama that will celebrate the victories of the Indian Air Force in the 1960s and 1970s. The aviation thriller has reportedly been shot at various air bases in India on a grand scale. The film is said to be shot in Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and Assam over four months. The film will hit the screens next month as Akshay Kumar has taken 50 days from June to October. Sara Ali Khan and Minrit Kaur will be donning strong intense characters unlike their previous role as romantic love interests. Sky Force will be directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur and co-produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Jio Studios.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar has much-awaited comedy film Hera Pheri 3 in the kitty. He also has OMG 2 – Oh My God, Soorarai Pottru remake, Capsule Gill and Gorkha in the pipeline. Sara Ali Khan recently visited Cannes 2023, making her debut at the prestigious international film festival. She is currently gearing up for the premiere of her upcoming film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke starring Vicky Kaushal. The film is slated for release on June 2, 2023.
