Samantha Ruth Prabhu also posted a note in which she seems to talk about Shaakuntam’s poor performance. Speaking about the backlash, the veteran producer claims her career is over.
Veteran Tollywood producer slams Samantha Ruth Prabhu
In an interview with Filmy Looks, reports News18 Showsha, the producer claimed that Samantha Ruth Prabhu made Oo Antava starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starring Pushpa to earn a living after her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. Producer Chitti Babu says the Majili actress is fielding any offers that come her way now that she has lost her star status. “Her career as a heroine is over and she cannot return to fame again,” he said, several entertainment news portals reported.
The producer also adds that when Yashoda was about to release, she would shed tears during the promotions and try to score a hit. Chitti Babu adds that before the release of Shaakuntalam, Samantha did the same by trying to gain sympathy, saying that Samantha falling ill and losing her voice was another stint. He called it a cheap and inane act and said that if the role and the film are good, only then people will watch it. He did not mince his words, saying that he wondered how Samantha was able to embrace Shaakunthalam despite losing her star status.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu reacts to the backlash
The popular actress shared her picture. Samantha is seen watching from her car. She is seen in a denim jacket and crop top, it seems. The actress has a manic look. She posted a quote from the Bhagavad Gita. “Karmanye vadhika raste Ma phaleshu kadachana Ma karma phala he tur bhuh Ma te sangotsva karmani (sic),” reads the quote. The bad translation says that one must continue to work and that one is entitled only to work, not to fruits.
Talking about the box office collection of Shaakuntalam, the film failed to earn around Rs 10 crores in the opening weekend. However, Samantha isn’t bothered by anything anyone says about her career. She has already moved on to bigger things. Today was a team competition in England with the Citadel team (Indian chapter).
