Samantha Ruth Prabhu is going through a lot these days, from her upcoming projects to her health. For those who don’t know, the actress revealed about her struggles while dealing with Myositis late last year. As if this wasn’t enough, she just went through some more pain. Samantha recently suffered bruises on the sets of her upcoming project Citadel.

Her character in the Amazon Prime Video show requires her to perform a lot of action and stunt sequences. While shooting such a scene today, Samantha got bruises on her hands. She shared a photo of her condition on her Instagram story, writing, “Perks of action.”
Citadel is the Indian version of the Russo Brothers international action show of the same name on the same platform. It will see Samantha team up with Varun Dhawan in the latter’s first web series. The Indian version is led by Raj and DK, who previously worked with Samantha on the second season of their acclaimed show The Family Man. The directing duo is currently enjoying rave reviews for their latest web show Farzi, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon, Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna and Amol Palekar.
The international version of Citadel stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra and Stanley Tucci. The first glimpse of the show was just yesterday.
Samantha shared her excitement about joining the show and had recently said, “When Prime Video and Raj & DK approached me with this project, I decided to take it on in a heartbeat! After working on The Family Man with this team, it’s a homecoming for me. The Citadel universe, the interconnected storylines between the productions around the world, and especially the script of the Indian episode got me really excited. I am thrilled to be a part of this brilliant universe created by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. I am also looking forward to working with Varun on this project for the first time. He is someone who is full of life and cheerful when you are around him.”
