Bollywood has had a love affair with remaking its own films as well as southern cinema for the longest time and there seems to be no end in sight. Salman inn and Akshay Kumar are two superstars synonymous with South remakes more than anyone else. And now we hear this Salman bhai is set to add another remake but this time it won’t be from south, but closer to home. In other words, it was billed as a headliner of a remake of a bygone era A Bollywood classic. So what is it? The answer is 1989 TridevStarring Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Nasiruddin Shah and late Amrish Puri among others.
Salman Khan to star in Tridev remake
A well-placed industry source has exclusively told BollywoodLife that Salman Khan is in talks to star in the Tridev remake. Apparently the original director Rajiv Rai approached Salman with the idea and he loved it. As Tridev’s remake is expected to have a completely contemporary twist, a new director is on the lookout along with the rest of the cast.

So, did you guess yet? If not, watch this space for more as we will reveal the name of the movie soon. Until then, let the suspension simmer on the surface. What we can reveal so far, apart from what we already have, is that it seems the original director and producer of the film have approached Salman for the remake and our source adds that he has given his unofficial consent. However, a new director will helm it and the rest of the cast is also yet to be finalised.
