Salman Khan fans have been curious about Kick for a long time. Well, there are some favorable developments on that front. Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the same at the Bawaal event in Dubai. He said he got his start as a director with Kick and it’s his favorite IP project, aka his pet project. He said that the moment he talks about Kick, everyone, be it the industry or the media, is excited about the film. But Sajid Nadiadwala made an important point. He said he wants to make a big film and would like to release it in a better time. He was quoted as saying to Pinkvilla, “The theme is on paper, it is fully written but it needs time. We have to bring cinema consumption back into vogue to make Kick.”
As we know, the pandemic has left a huge impact on the economy. People prefer to watch movies on OTT than in theaters. This affected the manufacturers to a great extent. Sajid Nadiadwala says he will make the film once people start going to theaters again. He seems to have scripted Kick 2. The director has also given narration to Salman Khan. He just wants to see audiences excited about movies again so he can plan for Kick 2. He said everyone is in a blind spot after COVID and people are still recovering. He said it takes a great movie to bring audiences to the theaters.
We have seen that some movies have been OTT hits. Many major releases have been sold to studios at huge prices. But an audience that has seen so much global content is hungry for the best. Sajid Nadiadwala said, “We cannot be complacent; we need to provide a great cinematic experience. We have to work very hard to give value not only to their money but also to their time. They will come for the best, not a ‘decent’ ‘okay’ content area.”
Sajid Nadiadwala has announced Housefull 5 and is also supporting Chandu Champion. The film stars Karthik Aryan and Kabir Khan is the director.
