Someone in Tampa please check on Tom Brady because he’s not doing well after Gisele Bundchen’s new interview. The supermodel has finally broken her silence on her husband’s decision to retire and return to the NFL, and she doesn’t sound too thrilled about the development.

Speaking with El, Bündchen agreed that reports that she wanted Brady out for good were sexist, though she did not outright deny them. “Obviously I have my concerns — it’s a very brutal sport and I have my kids and I’d like him to be more present,” she said (in other words, she’d like you to actively help the parent, Tom). “I’ve definitely had those conversations with him over and over. But at the end of the day, I think everyone should make a decision that works for them. He must also follow his joy.

I hope Brady is good at reading between the lines. But in case it isn’t, Bündchen continued. “I did my part, which is to be there [Tom]. I moved to Boston and focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams,” she said. “I feel very fulfilled that way, as a mother and as a wife. And now it will be my turn.” It really doesn’t get any clearer than that.

One can’t blame Bündchen for wanting her “pivot” to focus on her career. Speaking with Vogue UK earlier this year, she revealed that she homeschools their two children, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9, in Tampa — where they now live as a result of Brady’s last-minute decision. “When my husband decided he was going to play another year, I didn’t want to send them to school because it takes a long time for them to adjust to a new city.” (Brady is also father to 14-year-old Jack, whom he shares with Bridget Moynahan.) Looks like Bündchen just plans to be in Florida for a year, tops.

Rumors of a rocky time between Bündchen and Brady swirled last month when Brady took an unexpected leave from practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that head coach Todd Bowles described as “personal.” Brady later turned to his short rest. “Everyone has different situations that they face, and we all have unique challenges in our lives,” he said. “A lot of crap happens, so you just have to try to figure life out the best you can.” Some speculated that Brady actually missed practice to film an appearance The masked singer (a rumor he has since denied), but given Bündchen’s recent interviews, fans are more inclined to believe there may be trouble in paradise.

Since then, the rumors have only increased. Earlier this month, a report from Page Six claimed that Bündchen and Brady were no longer living together in Florida. And on Sunday, she sat out his first game since retirement, a Buccaneers source said people “seems strange.” (She did, however, tweet her support.) The source continued, adding, “Everybody here knows there’s tension, but we don’t know how serious it is. So we just don’t talk to him about Gisele. It’s not a subject anyone wants to bring up in front of him. Another source reportedly told the magazine that Brady didn’t handle his non-retirement well. “They decided together that he was going to retire, and then he decided on his own that he was going to come back,” the source said. “She said they’d talk about it some more, but then he came back anyway before they’d really discussed everything.”

But don’t worry, Tom-and-Giselle-suppliers, their marriage isn’t over just yet — according to a source in people that Brady “knows this is his last season if he wants to stay married.” So, assuming he really wants to make it work, it’s likely he’ll hang up his helmet at the end of the 2022 season.

“I’m just going to take it day by day and take it as it comes,” Brady said of his potential re-retirement during an episode of his Sirius XM show Let’s go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray. As for everyone predicting when he’ll actually retire for good, he added, “One of these days they’re going to be proven right.” Ah, yes, I’m sure that’s the kind of commitment Bündchen is looking for.
