Not to forget that the love ballad from the film, Tum Kya Mile is also creating awe among the masses. As the buzz surrounding the upcoming romantic drama refuses to die down, Karan Johar has once again treated fans to another little surprise. Today on July 1, the director-producer dropped the first look teaser of Ranveer Singh’s Rocky and Alia Bhatt’s Rani on Instagram. While some fans were happy with the sneak peek, others weren’t impressed with the first look.

“Our first movie viewing test! When we were locking eyes for ROCKY and RANI,” Karan Johar wrote. The pictorial for the first time captures Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt sharing the same frame. Ranveer donned a red shirt with white prints, sporting a macho look with a grown beard and long hair. He also wore a pair of stone-encrusted spikes. He had wrapped his arm around Alia, posing for the click.
Alia radiated her charm wearing a peach colored printed saree and pink sleeveless blouse. As for accessories, she wore gold plated earrings, a silver nose and a black bindi on her forehead. The Brahmastra actress sported a subtle glam makeup look that included kohl-rimmed eyes, a shade of nude lipstick and flushed cheeks. She rounded off her Rani avatar with open tresses.
Fans react to Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt’s first test

One of them blurted out, “LOOK AT THEM.” Another quipped: “A couple we wanted to bring together. I love Alia and Ranveer.” But a certain section of the internet population was unhappy with the look test, pointing out mistakes.
While one user claimed that Ranveer and Alia have “zero chemistry” in the picture, another remarked that “this look doesn’t suit them”. A third person observed that Ranveer looks like ‘Ram’ from his film Ram Leela and Alia looks like ‘Isha’ from Brahmastra. “They both look like brother and sister…the romance didn’t work out in the song either…guess the casting is a big fail,” came another disapproving comment.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars veteran celebrities including Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The film is slated to hit the big screens on July 28.
