Raveena Tandon wears many hats. Apart from being a national award winning actor, she is also known as a philanthropist associated with various causes. Because of the strong roles she has played over the years in women empowerment and the work she has done for women and girls, for which she has also been awarded by the Ministry of Women and Children. She became a pioneer after adopting 2 girls and becoming a single mother at the age of 21. We are reporting that she has been selected by the ministry to be a delegate to the prestigious W20, the women’s empowerment engagement wing of India’s G20 chairmanship.

Women 20 (W20) is an official G20 engagement group established during the Turkish Presidency in 2015. The aim is to ensure that gender considerations are integrated into G20 discussions and become The G20 Leaders’ Declaration as policies and commitments that promote gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.

When asked about it, she says, “It’s an honor to be invited and represent the 675 million Indian women in India as part of this delegation. Women in our country contribute in various sectors to drive the economy and their efforts should be recognized internationally. Holding this summit is a fantastic opportunity to empower women and give them more rights for their full social and economic participation. The proposed priority areas to be discussed are fully in line with my expectations.
