Shamshera was finally launched on the big screen, aspiring to be the next masala entertainer on the big screen. Directed by Karan Malhotra on Agneepath glory, shamsher stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. It revolves around Shamshera/Bali, portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor in his first dual role as father and son, the messiah of his tribe who is shunned by the upper caste stooges of the British for being of a lower caste. The father’s legacy and shame cannot be shaken by the son as he rises again for his people against both the British and corrupt Indian police officers like Daroga Shud Singh, played by Sanjay Dutt.
Shamshera 1 Box Office Collection Day
According to ticket sales tracking across major multiplex chains, Shamshera has taken the best advance booking of 2022 after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The final advance figure was expected to lag behind the Kartik Aaryan starrer, but that’s because several singles screen did not open its doors until the day of release. Nevertheless, for a big, commercial mainstream film like Shamshera, most of the ticket sales were expected to come on Day 1 itself, as is usual for such films, and this is what happened with the film, which was expected to release between 12 -13 crores nett at the box office. However, BB2’s record of ₹14.11 crore in 2022 for a Bollywood film seems to be out of reach.
Review of movie Shamshera plot, story
BollywoodLife gave the film 3 stars in its Overview of Shamshera and wrote, “Shamshera has a very entertaining first half, ending with a good interval block, but things go downhill in the second half, only to start again with the climax, which is a major highlight. Ranbir Kapoor absolutely nails it in his first dual role, with both intensity and mass paisa-vasool heroism, while Sanjay Dutt is delightfully diabolical. Regardless of the highs and lows, those who love the dacoit curry Bollywood westerns of the 60s, 70s, 80s.’
Shamshera also stars Ronit Roy and Saurabh Shukla who are in good form but a little underused.
