Rajshri Deshpande revealed that she was asked to pay for getting dressed up for magazine covers as well as awards.

Trail By Fire renowned Rajshri Deshpande recently poked fun at the way awards in the film industry work. The 40-year-old actress is best known for her roles in the Anurag Kashyap-directed Netflix series Sacred Games and in Nandita Das’ film Manto. The actress shared a vacation photo of herself, and the caption was the highlight of the post. She revealed in the caption that she was asked to pay for getting dressed up for magazine covers as well as awards.

Sharing a picture, she wrote, “They told me to pay for getting dressed up, getting into magazine covers and even for getting awards but I end up decided to spend all that in exploring different places, people, living an adventurous life laughing staring endlessly to the mountains and sea. Hope I did right?”

This is not the first time a member of the film industry has spoken out about the way awards are given. We all know why actor Aamir Khan stopped going to award events and he too has been quite vocal about it. Over a decade ago, Khan was expected to be awarded for his film Rangeela but was disappointed as the award was given to Shah Rukh Khan for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Ajay Devgn believes that all events are unfair and that the organisers’ main goal is to make enough money. Because of the money-making business, most films and actors who deserve awards are overlooked. And so according to him, one should not waste time watching random celebrity performances.
