Aashiqui actor Rahul Roy suffered a stroke in 2020. It happened when he was shooting for a film in Kargil. The actor had to spend almost several months in the hospital. As we know, medical bills can be huge in India where hospitalization costs run into lakhs. Rahul Roy revealed that Salman Khan helped him pay off his debts. His sister Priyanka Roy called him a “gem”. The incident happened when he was shooting for LAC – Live the Battle in Kargil. The crew took him to Wockhardt Hospital, where he underwent brain and heart angioplasty. He was later taken to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital, where he was kept in the intensive care unit under observation.
His sister Priyanka Roy told Bollywood Hungama that she would like to thank Salman Khan as he cleared the hospital’s pending bills in February. It seems that the film’s director paid money from Rahul Roy’s remuneration, which turned out to be insufficient to cover the hospitalization expenses. She was quoted as saying, “He (Salman Khan) called him (Rahul) and asked him if he could help with anything and he literally helped and the bill is now cleared.” The superstar has also helped many artists with their medical expenses in the past.
Priyanka Roy said Salman Khan never mentioned it to the media. This seems to have touched the lady’s heart. She called him a gem. It seems that Priyanka did not ask him for financial help, but he is coming from the front. She said: “Someone from the whole crowd comes up and actually asks if you’re really in trouble and that’s the biggest thing. That’s called you’re a star.” She said he was a real life hero. Rahul Roy said that whatever people say about Salman Khan, he will always be a good person for him.
Looks like Rahul Roy is doing well physically now. His sister told him to ask Salman Khan for a job. The actor was last seen in the movie “Agra”. Made by independent filmmaker Kanu Bell, it was the story of exploring the sexual oppression of men in small-town India. He was also part of Cabaret.
