They were brought together in Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The film received critical acclaim for various factors and their pairing is one of them. The actor spoke highly of his co-star, saying that she is not a clichéd heroine who would walk away after being slapped by men. Kangana Ranaut reacted in the sweetest way to his words of praise on Twitter, recalling their bond from the film.
In a recent interview with Rohan Dua, R Madhavan talked about the strong women in his life. He also counts Kangana Ranaut among the women who inspire him. The actor praised his colleague and explained how he finds her a fighter. Maddy said that all the leading ladies in his films are very, very strong. He also talks about being lucky to grow up with strong women in his house. According to him, women are strong and this is a universal truth that all men must come to terms with.
Talking about Kangana Ranaut, R Madhavan said that he has been fortunate to work with people like Kangana or Shalini who are opinionated women. He said that they are not intruders or clichéd heroines who come and dance or get slapped by a man and just leave. He expresses his desire not to make any of the films in which women are characterized in such a way, nor does he have any in his life. He thinks that people who engage in such stories are really stupid in today’s world.
He credits Kangana for the power she brings to the screen through her achievements. He says this is extremely clever and important. Praising his Tanu Weds Manu co-star, he added, “She is truly an exceptional actor who brings so much to the roles she plays. And look at what he’s doing today in all genres of movies, I’m ecstatic.

Referring to his character from Tanu Weds Manu, she wrote, “Sharma ji aap bade darling type ho.” This brought a flashback of their unlikely couple from the romantic comedy-drama film series.
Meanwhile, R Madhavan will be next seen in web show The Railway Men, which also stars Babil Khan, Kay Kay Menon and Divyendu Sharma. On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for her next directorial titled Emergency in which she will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
