HYDERABAD: A producer of Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Kabali‘, who also distributed some big-budget south Indian films, has been arrested by Cyberabad police for allegedly peddling drugs at Kismathpur Crossroads in Rajendranagar. Police seized cocaine worth Rs 10 lakh from his possession. They are also verifying the role of a few other celebrities, who were in regular contact with the producer.
Acting on a specific tip-off, the Special Operation Team (SOT), Madhapur, kept a watch on the movements of Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chowdary, who bought the rights of Telugu version of ‘Kabali’, and arrested him at Kismathpur Crossroads on Wednesday while he was allegedly trying to sell the contraband to prospective customers. Ninety sachets containing 82.75g of cocaine, a car, and four cell phones – altogether worth Rs 78 lakh – were seized from his possession.

During interrogation, Chowdary, a native of Khammam district, confessed that he had bought the cocaine from a Nigerian national, Petit Ebuzer alias Gabriel, a wanted drug peddler.
