Priyanka Chopra rules hearts with her flamboyant appearances at the promotions of her upcoming spy thriller series, The Citadel. The actress appeared in a Citadel promotion alongside the cast and crew, incl Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci and The Russo Brothers and more. Priyanka also sat down for a chat in India when she was promoting Citadel in the biggest city. Priyanka had earlier opened up about the pay gap between male and female actors in Bollywood and she reiterated the same.
Priyanka Chopra revisits pay inequality in Bollywood
In an interview with Film Companion, reports Koimoi.com, Priyanka Chopra was asked if she ever fought against pay inequality in India. The actress revealed that she had, adding that she never asked for equal pay, but a little more than she would normally be paid. “Woh bhi nahi milta tha. So, I just gave up the fight,” she told the portal. Priyanka had earlier shared how Bollywood actors would be paid huge sums while actresses don’t even get 10 percent of what heroes do.

The actress was asked about getting equal pay, which Priyanka Chopra got for the first time in 22 years of her career. The global icon shared that her agents asked her, since she was co-starring, to sit down with Amazon and discuss pay parity. Priyanka, who wasn’t expecting it, said she asked them to try but told them it wouldn’t happen. Priyanka said she doesn’t believe because she has fought this battle without success and has had these conversations many times. Her statement made headlines again in Entertainment News.

Speaking of Citadel, the web series was created by Amazon Prime Studios’ David Weil with the Russo Brothers. Apart from Priyanka and Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci and Leslie Manville play key roles in the series. It tells the story of two spy agents who, after losing their memories, start over until their former colleague approaches them again, when another order forms that could threaten everything. The trailer of Citadel was full of amazing action sequences, stunning chemistry between Richard and Priyanka and of course, an intriguing plot.
