She is the first woman of color to direct a Star Wars film. She is a Pakistani-Canadian director and producer known for documentaries such as Saving Face, A Girl in the River and others. She will direct Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. Priyanka made a post to celebrate the same and called Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy ‘South Asian’. This did not sit well with Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui. He tweeted that Priyanka Chopra should have mentioned that Sharmeen is Pakistani and then South Asian.
Adnan Siddiqui tweeted that Sharmeen is the first Pakistani and Priyanka Chopra had to admit it considering she uses every opportunity to flaunt her Indian nationality. The tweet read: “With all due respect,
@priyankachopra. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is the first Pakistani, just to refresh your knowledge. Like the way you flaunt your Indian nationality whenever you get a chance before claiming to be South Asian.” Many commented on the tweet and sided with Adnan Siddiqui. Priyanka Chopra is in the same place. However, there are some who have also sided on the actress side The Citadel actress has yet to respond to Adnan Siddiqui’s tweet.
