Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ launched her debut single, ‘In My City’ in 2012, and 2013 saw the release of ‘Exotic’, a song she co-wrote with Pitbull, a US rapper and singer. She quickly abandoned her musical endeavours, however, in order to concentrate on her Hollywood career.

Nick Jonas, a member of the band the Jonas Brothers, and wife Priyanka Chopra frequently take US tours. Priyanka and Nick tied knot in 2018. They embraced parenthood and welcomed their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas last year. In a recent interview, Priyanka discussed how she had a fresh understanding for the music business after seeing Nick perform live.

Priyanka told people, “The tour wife thing, it was the first time I was doing it for the Happiness Begins Tour and it was fun. I love, love, love them on stage. They’re an incredible experience when you watch them live and I don’t get enough of it. She added, “[It’s] insane what musicians do. I don’t know how they do it… tour life is really crazy. It’s so hectic. You have late nights, early mornings, you’re traveling to a different city every day and you do it for three months. That’s why my music career lasted two seconds. I was not meant to do that. This rockstar life is… I admire it tremendously. It’s definitely not for the weak-hearted.”

Priyanka also opened up on working with her husband Nick Jonas. She said, “Nick and I, as much as we have our individual careers and lives, we end up inspiring the work that we both do because I mean, you come back home and you’re having dinner and you’re talking about your day and it becomes one in a way.” She added, “We’re always on the same page and it’s just so fun because this is my best friend and someone that knows me more than anyone else. I could absolutely and wholly be myself and be completely honest with how I feel and not be worried about complications that you have with work colleagues. This is my person, so it makes it so much easier.”

Reflecting on her musical career earlier in 2021, Priyanka had remarked at the Times LitFest. She said, “It looks like I’m the person who’s choosing everything in my life, but it’s not true. I’m just like anybody else. I have spent a lot of time invested in things which were just not working, and I just stayed and stayed, but at some point, you have to choose yourself. Like, when I take my music, for example, I stayed to try it, but I had to recognise when it was not living up to my standards. I knew that it was futile to spend more time there and that’s important to understand.”

On the professional front, Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra has Citadel set at Prime Video with Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci. The series is set to premiere on April 28. She also has a movie Love Again releasing in theatres on May 12, with Sam Heughan and Celine Dion.
